Landscape & step lighting
Low-voltage lighting for paths, steps and the edges of your outdoor space, planned around where you walk and what you want to see after dark.
Plan my project
A clearer path. A softer evening.
A plan for your home.
Working directly with Maz in Richmond, Midlothian and Chesterfield County, Virginia.
A garden path and a flight of steps need different kinds of attention. Start with the route from the door to the places you use: the driveway, a seating area or the far end of the deck. Lighting can help define that route without making the whole yard bright.
Plan the view from both directions
Share a photo looking out from the house and one looking back along the path. Changes in level, planting and nearby windows help explain where light should land. Mention whether the fixture itself should be hidden or visible.
Build on what is already there
If an existing system has a transformer or controller, send its model details. New fixtures and controls need to suit the system and outdoor conditions. Maz can review the layout before materials are chosen.
What we can discuss
- Low-voltage path and landscape lighting
- Step lighting and discreet fixture placement
- Practical controls and cable-route planning
Scope, materials and any project requirements are confirmed before work is agreed.
A few useful things to share
- Which paths or steps do you use after dark?
- Where is outdoor power available?
- Would you like a schedule, a switch, or both?
Before you begin
Can step lighting work with a smart switch?
FIXABL’s published gallery includes low-voltage step lighting controlled by a smart switch. Whether that approach fits your home depends on the power supply, wiring route and controls.
Can I combine path and deck lighting?
Yes, discuss the spaces together. They may need different fixture placement and controls even when they are part of one project.
