The starting point
“Wireless” does not necessarily mean battery-powered. Check how a camera receives power, how it connects to the network, and where it stores recordings as three separate decisions.
Start with the view you need
Describe the entrance or area you want to cover and the reason for the camera. A wide view and a useful view of someone at the door are not always the same thing. Consider daylight, darkness and nearby windows when sharing the location.
Separate power from the connection
A product may use Wi-Fi while still needing a cable for power. Others use a battery or a wired network connection. Read the requirements for the exact model and discuss the available routes with Maz. The wording on a category page is not a substitute for the product details.
Review recordings and ongoing costs
Ask where recordings will be stored, how long they remain available and which features require a subscription. These details can vary by device and plan. If you already own equipment, share the recorder and camera model names before adding something new.
Plan who will use the system
Decide who needs to view footage and receive alerts. Keep control of your own account and use the manufacturer’s supported sharing process. Ask for a handover that covers normal use. FIXABL’s electronic-security credential is explained on the credentials page.
